The main topics for the meeting was FAIR principles for research data and Reconstruction Fib. 16.
FAIR principles for research data
AAU’s management wants to strengthen digitalization at the university. The departments have the possibility to select and design digitalization projects that support their strategy. At MP we have chosen to go with two partly related projects:
- To promote the departments laboratories to internal and external users
- To promote recycling of research data
Both projects have as one of the purposes to promote MP’s activities both nationally and internationally. To support this vision, we can introduce FAIR principles for data. This will increase the value and usability of our research data. FAIR principles also start to appear as positive or even mandatory elements in grant applications. Furthermore, an increasing number of journals give the possibility to upload original research data, which increase the impact of our publications.
Diba Terese Markus and Karsten Kryger Hansen from AAU’s CLAUDIA project introduced us to FAIR principles: 15 principles that aims to advance the Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability of research data.

Reconstruction Fib. 16
We are facing a larger reconstruction of the basement at Fib. 16 and some other changes in the building.
The reconstruction work will begin March 2022 and the building should be at our disposal again around December 2022.
We cannot avoid noise and inconvenience and therefore we anticipate that a rehousing is necessary.
