Meyers Vnge 15. Dear all staff at AAU CPH, On 14 August 2018, two meetings were held with the Danish Working Environment Authority (WEA) at A.C. Meyers Vnge 15. The management from the eight departments, an occupational health and safety representative from each department and the central section for occupational health and safety participated in the meetings. The first meeting was a general, risk-based inspection for the whole building at A.C Meyers Vnge 15. After this inspection, WEA found that the laboratories at the Department of Chemistry and Bioscience fully comply with the requirements. In addition, WEA chose to carry out inspections at the Department of Learning and Philosophy and the Department of Culture and Global Studies. The management, occupational health and safety representatives and the central section for occupational health and safety participated in the inspection. At the Department of Culture and Global Studies, WEA had no remarks. Based on the inspection at the Department of Learning and Philosophy, the WEA decided to arrange for a group interview with academic staff regarding the psychological working environment. After this, WEA will make their final decision. During the group interview, WEA and staff members with no managerial authority will discuss the working environment. The department management and the occupational health and safety representative will select the staff members who will participate in the group interview. The second meeting was held with WEA, the Department of Materials and Production and the Department of Planning in order to establish whether the two departments have complied with the consultancy notice on ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for academic staff. Based on this meeting, WEA found that the Department of Materials and Production has complied with the consultancy notice. At an earlier date, WEA reported that they also found that the Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology has complied with the consultancy notice. With regard to the Department of Planning, WEA has decided to arrange for a group interview during which they will discuss the working environment with staff members with no managerial authority. The group interview will be conducted before WEA will make their final decision on the consultancy notice on the psychological working environment of academic staff. WEA acknowledges that the Department of Planning is working towards improving its working environment and commended AAU in general for our occupational health and safety efforts.
