Risk Assesment – guide

To prevent us from contributing to the illegal dissemination of classified knowledge, we are required to make a risk assessment before we offer any position to colleagues from the following countries: China, North Korea, Iran and Syria. Unfortunately, this can delay the process. To limit this we need to deal with it ASAP.

As Project manager/Section Head you are responsible to make the risk assessment ready for approval by the Department Head. See the mandatory Risk Assessment form here (link will follow)

If you want to hire a candidate from the countries listed above, you have to describe and assess the possibilities of dual use in the project concerned. You find the dual use list here (link will follow)

Please be aware that you need some information from the candidate. To limit the time spend we recommend you ask the candidate this ASAP:

Candidate

  • name & age
  • background
  • MSc degree from [university] / year [graduation]
  • BSc degree from [university] / year [graduation]
  • Title / subject of MSc degree / academic field
  • Number of publications

SUPERVISOR / PROFESSOR IN THEIR HOME COUNTRY (qualifying exam)

  • Name & affiliation
  • Background
  • Previous collaboration (s) etc. (between AAU and supervisor)
